Community Care & Safety Day!
Audre Lorde once said, "If they cannot love and resist at the same time, they will probably not survive." During this time of massive struggle, 3rd Space and SOS are thrilled to bring community together for a full day of free healing services, safety, political education, and joy!
Come learn about community safety strategies rooted in the radical tradition of the Black Panthers and Young Lords, a legacy we share and that is frequently held by women, femmes, queer, and trans People of Color. We will focus on creating, sharing, and exchanging the tools we need to build the movements we need and want to not only survive but thrive. We can create safety for ourselves without relying on the state!
However, we must never forget that healing justice is an essential component of our organizing and liberation. Don't miss out on learning self-care techniques and receiving FREE healing services such as massage therapy, acupuncture, and reiki from trained community healers! We are thrilled to celebrate and uplift interdependence in our community. As we learn to protect one another, we must also maintain community wellness, a lesson taught to us by the 3rd Space Program. And we can't forget about the surprise performances and speakers!
